Collaborating with classmates is a breeze using Zoom, CSUSB’s tool for hosting and attending video conferences. In one platform, Zoom allows groups of up to 200 students to host online meetings, conferences, and chats. It can be nearly impossible finding time in everyone’s busy schedule to meet up, so students miss out on necessary preparation to do well on group assignments. With Zoom, students can virtually rehearse projects and record meetings to view later.
Zoom includes other creative tools like screen-sharing and a virtual whiteboard to create and save notes. From anywhere, students can meet using their laptop, desktop, and tablet, or smartphone. Zoom is compatible with iOS, Mac, Android, and PCs. Once Zoom has been downloaded on your device, invite classmates to join and get a head start.

Camtasia provides educators with the perfect solution to easily create videos that motivate students and enhance learning. Camtasia allows you to showcase ideas and share knowledge with quick video demos or extensive visual projects.
The Camtasia software includes a screen recorder to capture high-quality videos and a studio with editing tools to customize video content.
There are many ways to utilize the Camtasia screen recorder and studio. Instead of using class time to go over the course syllabus, create a video that details the syllabus and expectations of the course. This way, each student hears the same message, including those who add the class later. Quiz questions can be added throughout the video to see if students have watched the presentation in its entirety, and if there are any questions.
Camtasia is also useful for professors and staff who spend too much time searching and prescreening videos that align to specific lesson objectives. Instructors can create and publish course-specific visual presentations that keeps students engaged. Using the software tools, instructors can record PowerPoint presentations, add narration, import photos and/or YouTube videos, add music, images from the web, sound effects, and more.
A key is required to fully access Camtasia. To obtain a key, please contact the Technology Support Center at (909) 537-7677 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
